The Client
Renewable technology installations to reduce domestic energy costs at the Hardy residence in Shildon.
The Brief
To source, supply and install solar pv panels, an energy storage battery and hot water diverter to a domestic dwelling in Shildon.
The Activity:
Looking to address the now common issue of rising energy costs, the home owner asked the Tomlinson Longstaff team to design, source and install a full solar installation to the existing house roof. To include solar pv panels, battery storage, a hot water diverter to maximise on the generated energy and a full monitoring system.
Working alongside Teesside Scaffolding, the team completed the job. Despite the challenges faced with the global supply chain issue for some of the materials.

The Result:
The renewable technology solution consisted of 15 x JA Solar panels, a 3.68kW Solar Edge inverter, a Solar Edge 10kWh battery, with the addition of a MyEnergi Eddi hot water diverter. It is expected to produce around 4.85 MWh per annum, with the client self consuming 80% of the generated electrical power.
This is anticipated to result in a decrease of around 96% versus the current electrical bill associated with the property.
With the addition of the Smart app, the client can monitor the energy generation and usage at the press of a button. As well as being able to detect and identify any faults or technical issues, should they occur, and quickly and effectively communicate this to the inverter and optimiser provider, Solar Edge. Thereby avoiding costs associated with call out fees and the like.
