Loading Bay & External Lighting Upgrade for CEPAC, Darlington

The Brief

To replace & upgrade lighting solutions for the loading bay and perimeter of the industrial site.

The Activity:

With the previous lighting installations being out of date, in some places broken and irreparable, as well as costly to run and maintain, the original loading bay lighting system was removed in preparation for the upgrade, as per the lighting design proposal from Park Electrical (our thanks to Jasmine Benson).

Replacing 25 fluorescent lights, the team installed 25 x JCC 72W 6ft non-corrosive light fittings, including 5 emergency lighting solutions.

For the site perimeter, 20 existing metal halide lights were removed. Being replaced with 20 Thorn Leo 120W LED floodlights, exceptional for visibility and longevity.

The team had to use their experience and exceptional strategic thinking to overcome some of the more challenging positioning of the lighting around the perimeter to accommodate the MEWP required to access the fittings safely.

Due to the output pressure of the business, CEPAC could not afford to shut down the loading bay while the works were carried out. So the team worked around the usual day to day activity. Cordoning off areas to ensure safety of all personnel and completion on time and within financial budgets.

The Result:

Given the age & deterioration of the original lighting, the new LED lighting not only offered a huge improvement for the site works in terms of visibility, but also working conditions.

In addition, the new LED electrical lighting solutions will reduce electricity consumption by a whopping 62%, thereby offering the business immediate and longer term financial savings. Something we pride ourselves in being able to offer our customers wherever possible.
