Raby Estates, County Durham
To convert a redundant barn with a new power supply for lighting, sockets and CCTV.
A previously unused barn, standing redundant, was identified as requiring a power supply to convert it for the use and benefit of the extended estate grounds.
As a result of our long term working relationships, Raby Estates approached us to design, identify & supply equipment, install and commission the project solution, knowing the work we have done in the past is of exceptional quality and that we would work to the timescales and budget required.
Given that the power supply would be new to this area of the estate grounds, we were required to liaise and negotiate with Northern Powergrid to ensure that the supply would be adequate to host the lighting, socket & CCTV solutions identified.
In addition, a mobile elevated work platform (MEWP) was deployed, supplied by Ronnie Laws of Pc Fork Truck Services Ltd., due to the height of the work being carried out, to ensure safety compliance and protection of the Tomlinson Longstaff team.
3 new motion activated lights were installed outside, with 4 switch activated installed inside the building, alongside a socket outlet, a new 6-way distribution board and a 4g Hik Vision CCTV system, supplied by Will Wilson IES, including 6 cameras which are accessible 24 hours a day and offer security breach notifications via a Smart Phone app.
This conversion now adds an additional large barn style space to the estate which could be used for storage space in the future.
