The Brief

To identify the cause of power loss to the commercial building and remedy for business continuity.

The Activity:

We have a long history with Northern Counties Safety Group Ltd. having utilised their training and qualification services for the TL team, as well as employing their health and safety services for the Tomlinson Longstaff business. In this instance, we were their first point of call when the power to their business park training building was lost, meaning that they could not deliver the agreed provisions for their own customers.

With our detective hats on, we identified that a fuse had blown in a separate building, one that housed the electrical distribution boards for a number of the units on site.

Once the errant phase had been identified, we reported the required replacement part which was dealt with internally. In the meantime, to ensure that Northen Countries could continue to deliver their busy training diary, we altered the electrical circuit set up to ensure the lighting and facility essential power systems were not disrupted. 

Once the relevant fuse had been replaced, we returned to site to return the circuits back to their original positioning. 

The Result:

Despite the initial alarm that business would be interrupted, our quick skills at identifying the issue and providing a temporary solution ensured the workday could continue without any disruption to the end client receiving important safety training and advice.
