The Brief
Revisit property to install additional solar panels to a bespoke ground mount.
The Activity:
Having visited this property to install 16 x solar panels back in September 2022 to a flat car port roof, the customer contacted us to request installation of additional solar panels to a bespoke ground mount.
Due to the way the team had installed the existing system, there was flexibility within the inverter. So we were able to install another string to power an additional 8 x new 420W Trina solar panels (supplied by CCL Components) using the Fastensol mounting kit (supplied by Midsummer Energy Ltd.).
8 x SolarEdge optimisers were also required. Alongside a 16A DC isolator to complete the job, also supplied by CCL Components, Glasgow.
The Result:
With the installation of the new solar panels it is expected that the household will mostly run on fully self generated electric power. This is helped by the solar panels having been fitted on a south facing roof.
Not only will it allow for the residential based electric vehicle to be charged for longer and fully from mostly self-generated solar power. But also increase occurrence of solar generated electricity being sent to the grid for greater financial reward.
