The Brief
To replace and upgrade exterior lighting to the commercial operations site.
The Activity:
Having completed work for Kromek in the past, we were delighted to be asked back to help with replacing and upgrading the exterior lighting to the busy commercial site, based on one of the UK’s most innovative science parks, NETPark, near Sedgefield.
With the previous wall mounted floodlights and street lighting now not sufficient for working conditions and security on the site, we assessed the lighting requirements to improve the issue, sourcing and installing 9 x wall mounted Robus LED floodlights and 14 x pole-mounted Bell 70w LED street lights. The team were challenged with working around the continually functioning carpark, coordinating cordoned off areas to ensure works were completed on time, to budget and with minimal disruption to the site or employees.
As always, we are hugely grateful to our supplier partners Edmundson Electrical of Durham, and also a previous customer of ours, United Powered Access for the provision of the MEWP (mobile elevated work platform) needed to complete the job, as per the health and safety spec required.
The Result:
The revamped lighting solution not only delivers greater visibility for security and safety around the perimeter of the site, but with the switch to LED options, less energy will be used resulting in cost savings for the site as a whole.
