Domestic client – the Padden Household in Crook
The Brief
To install solar panels, storage battery, hot water diverter, bird protection and electrical vehicle charging point.
The Activity:
Following contact through a Facebook Solar Forum, our client had requested maximising the solar energy capture opportunity for his property.
The team set about designing the most extensive configuration of panels that the panelled roof could allow to meet the client’s expectations; a challenge in itself!
Due to the potential delicacy with the pantiled roof, dependent on the age of the tiles, a Renusol mounting system was used to affix 18 x Longi 40W all black solar panels, supplied by CCL Components.
Our thanks to BS Scaffolding in preparing for the roof installation.
In addition, 2 x Pylon Tech 4.8kWh batteries were installed and 1 x Solis 6kW inverter, all supplied by Segen.
City Electrical Factors came to the fore in supplying the MyEnergi Eddi hot water diverter and the MyEnergi Zappi 7kWh electrical vehicle charging point.
The Result:
This fully comprehensive solar power solution will allow the property to capture solar energy and store it for its own use rather than pulling from or supplying back to the grid, and will also allow for excess energy to be used to heat the water supply and charge the electrical vehicles associated with the property.
The mesh protection prevents birds from landing or nesting on or around the panels, avoiding damage to the panels or mounting system.
