St. Astier
The Brief
To install a DC (Direct Current) Electrical Vehicle rapid charge point to site.
The Activity:
Our ongoing long term relationship with consulting contractors, St. Astier, resulted in the request to install and commission a DC electric vehicle charger, allowing for an additional 2 ultra efficient charging points on site.
Preparation groundworks were carried out by St. Astier, leaving the Tomlinson Longstaff team to install the required three phase 16mm SWA cable from the existing distribution board (thanks yet again to Edmunson Electrical, Durham branch, for the electrical supplies) to an internally mounted 4 pole isolator and then underground to a 40kw Project EV DC electric vehicle charger mounted on a stand.
The Result:
The newly installed charger has 2 ‘smart’ charge points fitted with a 4k SIM card for continuity of connectivity, and can charge the company cars and possible future electric vans at a much faster rate versus the existing 16A chargers previously installed.
The charger itself has a touch screen display and can be controlled via RFID cards or via the app.
