The Brief
To replace a previously installed solar power system to increase energy capture capacity and usage.
The Activity:
Following a word of mouth referral, we were asked to design and install a more effective and efficient solar power system for this domestic dwelling, given the current system no longer matched the demands of the property.
The team installed 24 x Trina Solar 420W Vertex-S black panels (supplied by Midsummer Wholesale Energy), 1 x SolarEdge 6kW Home Hub inverter and 2 x 10kWh SolarEdge batteries (supplied by CCL Components).
All ancillary materials, such as cables and isolators, were supplied by our long term supplier City Electrical Factors, the Van Der Valk mounting kit by Waxman Energy, and our thanks also to the team at BS Scaffolding for their scaffolding support and expertise.
The Result:
Completed well within the timescale anticipated, the client will self consume around 70% of the electricity generated and captured. In addition they will be able to take advantage of financial payback for around 3.31MWh of annually exported electricity back to the grid, equating to just under £500 at the current rate of 0.15p/kWh.
To fully capitalise on the system now in place, we have been commissioned to install a new-to-market SolarEdge Home Back-Up Interface at the end of this month to ensure continuous supply of electric power to the property should an instance of a grid failure occur.
