Solar Panel, Storage and Bird Protection – Domestic Installation

The Client

Domestic client – J Tomlinson, Co. Durham

The Brief

To install solar panels, storage batteries, and bird protection to a residential property roof.

The Activity:

With the ever growing pressure of heightening electricity bills, Mr Tomlinson contacted us as a result of seeing another solar power installation being carried out by the team on a neighbouring property.

Following our site visit, the team at Tomlinson Longstaff designed and sourced 19 Longi 410w all black solar panels (fixed using the Renusol mounting system), 2 Fox LV5200 5.12 kWh batteries, 1 Solis 6kW hybrid inverter and the SolaSkirt bird protection system, all sourced via CCL Components and Segen.

The installation of the mounting system, panels and inverter were carried out on the pan tile roof to both the front and back to the property, and our thanks goes to BS Scaffolding in preparing for the roof installation.

The Result:

It is estimated that the full renewable solar power technology solution will generate 72% of all the household electrical power required, with any extra being exported back to the grid, potentially for financial gain depending on the tariff available.

The newly launched solar skirt provides protection against birds from landing or nesting on or around the panels, thereby preventing damage to the panels or mounting system.
