New Electricity Supply Installation at Teescraft Engineering

The Client

Teescraft Engineering, Alston Site

The Brief

To install an electrical power supply for a new production oven at an Alston warehouse.

The Activity:

In order to increase production output, an oven installation had been planned requiring a new electrical power supply to this engineering and fabrication site.

Tomlinson Longstaff had been recommended to Teescraft Engineering, and following an initial site visit, the team went about designing the most effective and efficient electrical power supply solution.

Working in a sometimes difficult environment, due to dust, dirt and a windy location, we installed 80 metres of 95mm 4 Code SWA cable, as well as a 200A three phase switch fuse and isolator, supplied by Cleveland Cable and Schneider Electric.

To avoid any disruption our team worked around the ongoing production activity, ensuring we had enough manpower required for the size of cable.

To complete the job, a cable tray was installed to the isolator and connection to the existing Busbar.

Our thanks to Halt Hire for the hire of the required scaffolding tower.

The Result:

With the new cable now installed supported by the required protective systems and dovetailed into the existent trunking system, the new oven could be installed allowing the increase in manufacturing output that had been envisaged.
