The Brief

To install a new three-phase distribution board and sockets for electrical power supply to a new production line.

The Activity:

As part of an ongoing long term relationship with Biscuit International (formerly Northumbrian Fine Foods), the commercial electrical team were asked to design, install and commission a new distribution board from the existing electrical power supply with additional sockets to extend production capabilities for the site, due to an increase customer demand.

Working during production times, so as not to disrupt output patterns, the installation included a 300mm cable basket suspended high level from the internal roof using Unistrut fixings, 6mm 4 core steel wired armoured cabling connecting the Schneider three phase distribution board to 12 x three-phase / single-phase RCD Europa sockets, housed on floor fixed steel post plates along the new production line, with all electrical materials sourced from our supply partners Edmundson Electrical. 

The Result:

Despite the particular care needed with the MEWP due to the ongoing production, the job was completed on time and to budget, with the customer now being able to extend production capacity and meet the increasing demand of their customers, with high quality electrical power input.
