The Brief
To design, install and commission full electrical system in line with the upgrade conversion of a warehouse to office area and safety training facility.
The Activity:
Established for over 50 years, the Northern Counties Safety Group have recently expanded yet again, requiring the conversion of a previous warehouse building into a new office area and training facility, in line with the demands of the business.
We were tasked with the full electrical system redesign, solution supply and installation, covering the full building to ensure that not only did it adhere to the required safety and legal electrical supply requirements, but also ensured that the needs of the working area to be fully satisfied.
The Result:
Due to the conversion of the building use, a number of elements had to be carefully considered, supplied and installed.
The full electrical system installed and commissioned covered:
- a new sub distribution board, including the cabling and final connections of all circuits installed
- new containment for all the cabling throughout the new areas
- installation of the cabling and connections to lighting and power
- installation of cabling isolators for the air conditioning units (working alongside Durham Air Conditioning)
- installation of a new data cabinet plus cabling to the data points within the new office area
- fire alarm cabling and connection (working alongside Brain Frampton of Complete Detection Systems for design and final commissioning plus installation and commissioning of full security alarm system and door access)
- installation of electronic door access system (working alongside IES Security)
- testing and commissioning of full electrical system services provided and supplied as per final approved drawings
- installation and commissioning of two electrical vehicle charging points, manufactured and supplied by Project EV
Our team completed the job within timescales and budget guidelines, ensuring a fully functional and ambient environment for this additional resource to the business.
