The Brief
To rewire and install electrical accessories to 3 flats and communal area.
The Activity:
As part of an ongoing working partnership, T. Manners and Sons Ltd. invited our team to work alongside them to complete refurbishments on 3 flats for private affordable rented accommodation.
One of the flats had been remodelled to capitalise on the space available, requiring a full rewire, 2 new distribution boards, a new heating system and 2 new extractor fans.
The other 2 flats being worked on also required new electrical heating systems and accessories.
Having been assessed, the communal area required the installation of a new fire alarm system, designed, supplied and commissioned by CDS, with Tomlinson Longstaff installing it along with Red FP200 cable, clipped directly to the walls and ceilings. New LED lighting provided a brighter and more efficient lighting solution, incorporating movement activated emergency backup packs.
Electrical heaters were supplied and installed to the communal area, as well as Duplex Quantum HHR Night Storage heaters to the flats, all supplied by Edmunson Electrical Durham.
The Result:
The flats are now fully refurbished ready for their new tenants, offering an efficient heating and lighting option and thereby improved EPC rating for rental, as well as peace of mind for the landlord in terms of electrical compliance and certification.
