We are award winners!
You might have seen on our socials recently that we were the proud winners of the ‘North East’s Small Scale Project (<£250k) of the Year’, at the North East 2024 Regional Energy Efficiency Awards, held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Durham, as well as receiving highly commended for the ’Solar PV Installer of the Year’ category.
This was all down to our 3-Phase solar panel installation to the roof of T. Manners & Sons Ltd. Head Office, based in Bishop Auckland (Peel House), using SolarEdge and Longi technology.
Given the recent hikes in prices and threats of unstable electrical power supply, our client wanted peace of mind in becoming as self-sufficient in generating electrical power as possible.
We designed, installed and commissioned a 144 solar pv panel solar power solution, supported by 72 optimisers to maximise the solar energy capture power of the panels.
It was vital that the team designed the renewable technology power solution to ensure that the power to site supported the needs of the business now & looking into the future.
A 3-phase inverter and manager completed the installation to accelerate the solar energy conversion and minimise future servicing requirements, as well as allowing the solar power being generated and used to be monitored on site.
The team had a job on their hands with this project, not least of all due to the complex foundations required to mount the inverter on the metal trapezoidal roof. As always, the team applied their previous experience, knowledge and expertise, pulling together to complete the project to the agreed schedule.
As a result of the thorough planning and inventive solar power solution put in place, T. Manners & Sons Ltd. is estimated to make savings of over £14,000 per year on their energy bills, with just over a 3 year payback estimated for the investment.
As a family business, regionally located in Bishop Auckland, both award categories were tough, so we were delighted to have been shortlisted, never mind win!
They are both outstanding achievements for the team here at Tomlinson Longstaff.
