Commercial client – Cleveland View, Bishop Auckland
The Brief
To install solar panels, two storage batteries, and bird protection to a storage building roof.
The Activity:
Due to recent noticeable increases in electrical usage bills, Ms. Robinson contacted us as a result of a personal recommendation.
Following our site visit, the Tomlinson Longstaff solar technology team designed and sourced 33 x Trina 425w SolarEdge solar panels, 2 x SolarEdge 10kWh batteries, 1 x SolarEdge 10kw inverter, and a netting bird protection system, all sourced via CCL Components.
The trapezoidal roof covering was the first of its kind for the team. And so, as with any new substrate, this presented a few challenges that were overcome with their expertise combined with the Van Der Valk mounting system (supplied by Waxman), a unique mounting system specific to the roof covering material and shape allowing installation without putting the panels under tension.
As well as the roof substrate, a long cable installation was also required to be fitted through the reduced loft space available, to enable electrical connection
Additional electrical components were supplied by CEF with scaffolding supplied by BS Scaffolding.
The Result:
The job was completed on time & within budget, providing our client with a solar capture and storage system resulting in less electrical power usage from the Grid and thereby reduced utility bills going forward.
