External Electrical Supply Installation for a new Co-op Store in Seaham

The Client

T. Manners & Sons for new Co-op Development in Murton, Seaham – External Electrical Supply Installation

The Brief

With the building of a brand new Co-op store on a former social club site, external lighting was required including controls and required supporting infrastructure.

The Activity:

As a result of successfully submitting a competitive tender for this project, Tomlinson Longstaff led the brief of supplying and installing external lighting to the new Co-op site incorporating a requirement for electrical supply to 9 x 6 metre lighting columns, lighting controls and a new landlords distribution board.

With the complexity of underground works and ducts, it was vital to work in partnership with the ground workers from, long term collaborative partners, T. Manners & Sons to ensure all positioning and supply capability ‘hot spots’ were identified prior to any work commencing and during works being carried out.

In addition, we subcontracted Stone Technical Services to aid in designing and identifying resources and materials required, as well as supplying, installing and testing the electrical power solution to ensure we delivered a fully compliant lighting protection system for the new building.

The Result:

The solution proposed was completed on time and in full, within the submitted financial quote and resulted in the new Co-op store being complimented with a comprehensive electrical lighting system to the carpark, supported by an efficiency led distribution board and controlled within the external electrical cabinet, ideal for the safety & security of the site, personnel and customers.
