The Brief
To source, install and commission a new electrical vehicle charging point to a reconfigured commercial unit.
The Activity:
As a result of works carried out to amend and upgrade electrical supplies for a commercial unit on the Bibus UK site in Crook, the team completed the job with the installation of a Phase-3 electrical vehicle charging point, specifically to deliver more efficient and faster charging for commercial vehicles, in the loading bay area.
We installed a 6mm 5 Core EV Ultra cable, incorporating the mains and data cable in one for neatness (supplied by Cleveland Cable) which was mounted and clipped to the outer surface of the unit and connected to the newly installed MyEnergi Zappi 22kW 3 phase EV charger (supplied by CCL Components) , which offers the advantage of an app for data recording and monitoring purposes, to make the most of the unit’s electrical energy usage for charging, and identifying peak and off-peak times for charging efficiencies.
The Result:
The added installation of the electric vehicle charger completes the commercial unit works for Bibus UK for the time being and adds the extra bonus of a dedicated charging point to support the commercial fleet, future proofing as demand and necessity for electrical power increases, and help to contribute to the business’s commitment to energy efficiency and sustainable business practices.
